NCFR Board, Committee & Section Job Descriptions

NCFR BOARD MEMBERS (President, President-elect, Members-at-Large, Association of Councils President-elect, Student/New Professional Board Representative)

Except as otherwise provided herein, NCFR Board Members serve a three-year term. The President, the President-elect, Association of Councils President-elect, and Student/New Professional will serve two-year terms. NCFR Board Members are responsible for the overall governance of the organization on behalf of all NCFR members. They attend two or three face to face Board meetings per year, along with regular conference calls and email exchanges. They take responsibility for maintaining contact with the membership and for reflecting the needs of all NCFR members. Nominees should be willing to work within the Policy Governance model that the Board has approved, which emphasizes the Board's role as articulating vision, setting priorities and monitoring staff performance. Each Board Member is expected to be an active participant in these tasks.
