The Conference Program Student/New Professional of the National Council on Family Relations serves as a member of the Program Committee for a two-year term.
- Member of the Annual Conference Program Committee.
- Attend Program Committee planning session.
- During the Annual Conference.
- At the Spring Planning Meeting.
- Screen submissions that have been designated for S/NP sessions, using standardized criteria. Plan conference sessions. If there are not enough submissions or if submissions are of low-quality, solicit and put together a program for S/NP sessions.
- Member of the Student Award Committee.
- Read and score materials submitted for award.
- Return materials to Board Student/New Professional who chairs the committee.
- Assist in networking students and new professionals.
- Annual Conference Responsibilities
- Coordinate Student/New Professional Housing for Conference.
- Consult with Conference Coordinator and Board Student/New Professional to prepare article/form for NCFR Report.
- Handle correspondence/phone calls from Student/New Professionals.
- Send list of those who request roommates to all those on the list.
- Be available at the Conference to deal with any questions.
- Plan Arrangements for S/NP Sponsored Party.
- Check with Local Arrangements Chair, for suggestions for local disk jockey.
- Contact disk jockeys, have them quote prices for a four-hour contract, check on music licensing and union restrictions. Select the DJ with the best price. Arrange for them to draw up a contract to be sent to the NCFR office for signature by the Executive Director.
- If there is any money left for decorations, arrange for inexpensive decorations such as balloons. Secure assistance of other Students/New Professionals to help decorate the night of the party.
- Pick up check for the disk jockey from the NCFR Registration Cashier the day of the S/NP sponsored party. Give the check to the DJ after the party has ended.
- Oversee sessions sponsored by Students/New Professionals.
- S/NP Skills Exchange and S/NP Development Forum
- S/NP Business meeting
- S/NP Sponsored Party
- Attend Newcomers Reception.
- Attend NCFR Annual Business Meeting and Membership Forum.
- Be available for consultation with Students/New Professionals.
