Family Therapy — Awards

Family Therapy Section Student Paper and Poster Annual Competition

Eligibility requirements to participate in the student poster competition:

  1. Applicant must be a student at time of submission.
  2. The student must be the first author on the poster and present the poster at the conference.
  3. The student must be a member of NCFR.
  4. The poster presentation must be submitted to the FT section.

Eligibility requirements to participate in the student paper competition:

  1. Applicant must be a student at time of submission
  2. Student must be the 1st author on the paper.
  3. Student must be in attendance at the NCFR conference and able to present their paper.
  4. Student must be a member of NCFR
  5. The paper presentation must be submitted to the FT section.

Procedures to be followed for the student paper award:

  1. Students will submit their proposal (abstract) to NCFR by established due date.
  2. Upon acceptance of proposal/presentation by NCFR, the student authors will be contacted individually by the Family Therapy S/NP and invited to submit a full paper for committee review. All potential applicants will be contacted no later that June 30 th.
  3. Those choosing to submit a full paper will be required to submit to the Family Therapy SN/P representative a copy of their paper by September 15 th. These papers will then be circulated among the review committee for evaluation and ranking. The highest rated paper will be given the monetary award of $400.00
  4. If possible the student will be given the award during the business meeting of the FT section at the annual NCFR conference.

Procedures to be followed for the student poster award:

  1. Students will submit their proposal (abstract) to NCFR by established due date.
  2. Upon acceptance of proposal/presentation by NCFR, the student authors will be reviewed onsite at the conference by the selection committee.
  3. Two outstanding posters will be selected and awarded $125.00 each. A check will be sent to the student following the conference.
